EASA AMC 20-152A: a new approach for COTS IP Design Assurance
Regarding COTS IP used in the development custom electronic devices for critical civil aviation applications, EASA newly published AMC 20-152A departs from previously applicable guidance. While it has been recommended to satisfy ED-80/DO-254 prescriptions, this new guidance proposes alternative objectives based on available COTS IP documentation, supplier processes for verification and user support, and complementary verification.

The ADS-B Out mandate in Europe is approaching… are you ready?
The ADS-B Out was made mandatory in Europe by the Commission Regulation (EU) No 1207/2011 issued on 22 November 2011, then amended in 2014 and 2017. The latest Commission Regulation (EU) No 2020/587 that was issued in April 2020, during the COVID 19 crisis, amends the SPI regulation 1207/2011 by extended the mandate limit date by 6 months, i.e. until 07 December 2020… in other words tomorrow.

Using ready-made templates to comply with DO-178C and DO-254
